Red Hat Challenge

I and three other MBA students recently completed a contest which involved producing a document outlining a new way for Red Hat Inc. to make money - known as the Red Hat Challenge. The contest featured:

  • 144 Schools
  • 344 Teams
  • 978 Contestants from 15 Countries

Results came in today. We finished in 7th Place. Not bad!

Our idea was based on the One Laptop Per Child initiative, a public/private effort to supply laptops to developing countries. The idea was to supply a volunteer-based local and regional support network to the users. Volunteers would be higher-level computer-savvy folks, contributing in a social network for rewards doled out by Red Hat.
