Something overheard during a Finance final review:

In the 90’s, Dell regularly purchased option calls in the open market that favored a stock increase. They made MILLIONS of dollars this way…by betting on themselves. Of course, no one complained because Dell was betting they’d win, that the stock would increase in the process, making everyone happy.

Pete Rose did the exact same thing…and he got banned from baseball for it.
